Ingredients

Apple Filling
- 4 large Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons Japanese Non-Gluten Rice Flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Oat Topping
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup Japanese Non-Gluten Rice Flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F/177°C.
Step 2
Peel apples and thinly slice so each piece is approximately 1/4 – 1/8 inch thick. You should have 4 heaping cups of sliced apples.
Step 3
In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix together apple filling ingredients, then pour mixture into the bottom of a greased 8×8 baking dish.
Step 4
In a large bowl, combine oats, Japanese Non-Gluten Rice Flour, almonds, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Pour melted butter on top of dry ingredients and mix thoroughly
Step 5
Evenly distribute the oat topping over the apple filling.
Step 6
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the oat topping is golden brown and the apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
Step 7
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
